Activist and author Ali Abunimah hits the nail on the head about the double standards of American liberals when it comes to Israel.

On a personal note, I went to an ostensibly very progressive liberal arts college in the Midwest, and I remember my visceral disgust at hearing a nearby diner in the cafeteria earnestly voice his regret over the peace process (which was then seeming to some revivified by the unilateral withdrawal of the IDF from Gaza): "Now I won't ever have the chance to kill any Palestinians."
